Leadership
Leadership begins with contribution
Students grow into leaders by taking responsibility for something that matters — contributing first, then leading, and eventually creating impact of their own.

A tradition of student leadership
What happens when students are given something worth leading?
In 2007, a group of Ardent students started the Orange County Math Circle, a Local Programs Initiative of the Art of Problem Solving Foundation. They studied challenging mathematics together, then brought that experience to students across the community.
Every volunteer was an Ardent student, and for years they ran it themselves — organizing lectures, tournaments, and outreach as the Math Circle grew across Orange County.
In 2011, that work became an independent nonprofit, Math for Service. New student interests brought computing, science, and other fields, and in 2018 it became STEAM for All.
For nearly two decades, one generation of students has built on the work of the one before it — taking responsibility for the organization, growing its programs, and eventually handing it forward.

A student-led place to begin
The next generation takes it from here.
STEAM for All gives students a place to turn their interests and abilities into service. Students can begin by helping with a workshop or teaching younger students, then grow into responsibility for projects, programs, teams, and initiatives of their own.
Contribute
Help with workshops, events, and projects that serve schools and communities.
Teach
Share mathematics, science, computing, or another interest with younger students.
Organize
Take ownership of a workshop, event, program, or school chapter.
Lead
Take responsibility for a team or program — and help prepare the students who come next.
STEAM for All is one of many ways students can serve. What makes it distinctive is that it is led by students themselves, with younger students learning from peers who have already taken on greater responsibility.
STEAM for All is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. It is open to students beyond the Ardent community.
