28 Ardent Students Win Awards at the 2023 Orange County Science & Engineering Fair

Ten first places and eleven special awards, in categories from botany to applied mechanics, with four Beckman Foundation Chapman Awards among them.

The Orange County Science & Engineering Fair is the county's annual research competition for students in grades 6 through 12. Students present original work to judges in a Junior Division for grades 6–8 and a Senior Division for grades 9–12. Winners can go on to the California Science & Engineering Fair and national competitions. This year twenty-eight Ardent students won awards.

Nine of them had placed before. Kayla and Marissa won 1st Place for the second year running. Sailee and Zoe moved up from 2nd Place in 2022 to 1st. Matthew and Cloris, Junior Division winners in 2021, won 1st Place in the Senior Division. Braden, Jacob and Adela placed again after winning in 2022.
