Grouping four or five numbers into tens, the ×11 shortcut, doubling with carries, estimating products by rounding, and reading remainders off the ones digit.

Rounding to any place, order of operations, long division, divisibility rules for 3 and 9, and patterns from triangular numbers to Fibonacci.

Problem Solving

The named models arrive—part-whole, comparison bars, period, planting, and before-and-after—each one drawn before the problem is solved.
